Ace Brown hails from the backwoods of Ohio
and has been playing music since he was a young pup. His brand of traditional Hillbilly and western swing
has been called "Mid-Western Swing". His Ohio Valley Boys
provide a strong swingin' rhythm that can keep up with the most fast paced rock n' roll and rockabilly out there! Whether
it's a swingin' Western Swing tune, a foot tappin' hillbilly boogie, or good ol' rockabilly, Ace and the
Boys truly are the "Kings of Mid-Western Swing"!
Ace Brown, vocalist, guitarist and steel guitarist, fronted the quite popular group Ace Brown and the
Helldivers from 2001 through to about early 2006 when bassist Johnny Bones then joined the Air National Guard. Instead of
packing it in for a spell, Ace decided to switch gears a little and "backdate" the sound of his music to a western swing and
hillbilly boogie oriented style. In the process, the Ohio Valley Boys were created.
Johnny "Amazing" Carlevale (who fronts the All Star Band, the Rollin' Pins, and the gypsy jazz/swing
combo the Bomboleros) is the rhythm guitarist for the Ohio Valley Boys. Having a root in R&B/ Jazz/ Swing, Johnny lays
down a great rhythm guitar sound that makes up the group really swing!
Upright bass duties are filled by Derek "Hot Guy" Moniz, formerly of the alt. Country group The Brimstone
Assembly. Derek lends his backing vocals where needed as well. Derek and Ace became fast friends having close ties to the
Hot Rod and Kustom scene. Not only is Derek a fantastic bass player, but he's a hot rodder as well. A perfect combo!
